Brighton The Corner - Petersham

Just when we thought Marrickville was dominating the cafe culture in the Inner-West, here comes Petersham. A residential street, early risers, coffee lovers and the admirers of cafe lifestyle, sounds familiar! Brighton the Corner caters to such an audience, just in a different locale, the laid-back and relaxed suburb, Petersham.

While the sunlight glare through the windows and attracts one to a window seat, the aroma and freshness of flavours would allure you to sit next to the open kitchen on sturdy bar stools.

The friendly and attentive staff makes us feel welcome while they take our coffee orders. We haven't even settled down and the coffees are served. Artistic, hot and soothing, awaiting to kill our winter chill.

A compact menu made the selection for our brekkie easier.

The house made crumpets with caramelised pear and honey butter blessed my sweet tooth with an inspiring gift. A gift that was enchanting, infused with flavours and tasted delicious. The pear was gently cooked and immersed in the melted butter. The added cinnamon on top was a stroke of genius.

For the healthy food eaters out there, try the hot smoked salmon, laced with addictive pickled raddish, fennel, peas, quinoa and poached egg.  A light dish with well balanced and fresh flavours that will make your morning delightful.

A potential gem in the making, try it out to find out!
